From 18th to 25th April: “Tulip week” on Lake Maggiore
“A beautiful garden does not need to be big, but it should be the realization of one’s dream, even though it is only a couple of square metres large and it is situated on a balcony”. So explained Captain Neil Mc Eacharn, the man who created the marvellous gardens of Villa Taranto. Its plants, some of them unique inEuropeand acclimatized after long laborious efforts, have been arranged with art in this beautiful setting, between mountains and lake.
It is in this particular period that the garden lights of the thousands colours of more then 80. 000 bulbous in flowers, among these, the unquestioned star is the tulip flower. There are more then 65 varieties, among them there is the possibility to admire the rare black tulip “Queen of Night” and the imposing “Big Chief”, with its corolla’s diameter of almost10 centimetres. “The Tulip’s Maze” is a magnificent show of colours, a long sinous path created by master-gardeners with 20.000 bulbous of 65 varieties.
Furthermore in this season, in the “Garten” you can admire wonderful blooms, as for example huge coloured spots of “rhododendrons and azaleas”.
You can visit the “Garten” every day, holidays included, from8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Car and caoch parking free of charge
The boat landing stage “Navigazione Lago Maggiore” is directly connected with the entrance of the “Garden”.
