BITEG 2015 in Stresa
International Marketplace for Gastronomic Tourism

The charming town of Stresa has the honour to host the XVI edition of the BITEG – Borsa Internazionale del Turismo Enogastronomico. The event will take place from the 23rd to the 26th of October at the prestigious Regina Palace Hotel in the splendid scenery of the Borromean Gulf and Lake Maggiore.
Gastronomic tourism is worth 30% of the tourism income in Italy and food travellers are among the biggest spenders, on average € 105 a day per person. Gastronomy is a fundamental part of the Made in Italy together with art and fashion and 2 of 3 people confirm that food is a reason to visit Italy, in part thanks to the many specialities certified dop, igp and excellent wines doc e docg.
The fair is organised in collaboration with the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi e Monti dell’Ossola with the support of the students of the course Tecnico Turistico at the Institute Erminio Maggia in Stresa which will welcome the operators and report about the event in social media.
Antonella Parigi, assessor of Culture and Tourism in the Region of Piedmont underlines: “The BITEG returns with and edition whose orientation towards the international markets is expressed by the collocation in connection with Expo 2015: both for the period – the last week of the Exposition – and for the choice of location in the fascinating Lake District, as easily reachable from the site in Rho as from the Malpensa airport. A renewed BITEG compared to the past, with various news that are capable of making the workshop con diverse novità che si annunciano capaci di rendere il workshop as incisive and effective as ever”.
BITEG 2015 will host 100 Italian sellers specialized in gastronomic tourism and 120 selected national and international buyers together with industry journalists and bloggers.
