Along the most charming coast of Lake Maggiore the most important sporting event of the territory returns: the Lake Maggiore Marathon 2015. The start of the race is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Sunday 18th October in Pallanza and runs for 42 km along the Piedmont shore, reaching Stresa and then returning to the finish line on the Pallanza lakefront. As an alternative to the marathon there is a shorter distance of 30 km, starting and finsihing in Pallanza, a half marathon (21 km) with finish line in Stresa and a non-competitive relay race of 21+21 km with change over point in Stresa.

The race, considered to be one of the most scenic in the world, is at it’s 5th edition under the organisation of IAAF ( International Associazione of Athletics Federations), FIDAL (Italian Athletics Federation) and AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races). With over 2.300 registered participants last year the organizers expect another record, postponing the last registration date until Tuesday 13th October. The registration can be made comfortably online on the official website www.lagomaggioremarathon.it by selecting the distance and filling in one’s credit card information.
