National Park and Ossola Valleys
Val Grande National Park
The wild and stark Val Grande (“Large Valley”) is a true paradise for the most enthusiastic trekkers. This valley, which stretches from Lake Maggiore to the Vigezzo and Intrasca valleys, was turned into a national park in 1992.
With its lonely mountain peaks and remarkable views, Val Grande is a great place for all kinds of outings (easy, difficult, intermediate levels), allowing trekkers to walk among woods, old mountain pastures and the small villages that are part of this valley’s history.
Our guides will lead you along the old mule-tracks and roads the locals used in the past. Most importantly, you will be able to admire the fantastic landscape of the Alps.
Lake and mountain elements are perfectly combined in the area of Lake Maggiore. Theseven Ossola valleys open onto the shores of the lake and are shadowed by mountain chains with a truly unspoilt environment.
The scenery and landscape of these valleys, Valle Anzasca, Val Antrona, Val Bognanco, Val Vigezzo, Val Formazza, Val Antigorio and Val Divedro, are the perfect setting for different sorts of outings in the natural parks and game reserves. There are also routes for mountain bikes.
Our guides are familiar with every part of the valleys and mountains so they can lead you to some of the most spectacular places, allowing you to enjoy this unspoilt environment, practice sports and relax at the same time.
