Music at high altitude, 13th edition

From 15 June to 8 September, 11 spectacular appointments

Particular music event among ancient pastures, high peaks, remote corners and the panoramic terraces of Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta.

Music excursions, with expert hiking guides and special music performances of young talents and famous national and international artists, on natural stages of extraordinary beauty.

First music performance: 15 June, Pian d’Arla, on the hills of Verbano.

National Hiking Week, Val Grande

29th May

21st Edition of the National Hiking Week of the Italian Alpine Club,
From 8 to 16 June, Val Grande

Val Grande, located in the middle of Ossola’s Valleys, between Lake Maggiore and Cannobina Valley, was recognized in 1992 as National Park and wildest area of Italy. This is the location of the 26 excursions of the national hiking week.

Several cultural appointments in the evening, about different aspects of hiking.

From 13 June to 16 June are also programmed 8 cycle tours.

Cycling among flowers

Non competitive cycling,  6 km between flowers and Arona’s streets, through the historical center and Del Popolo Square.

Free ticket and balloons for children. 

Orchids Festival

Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May

Petalo Pavillon, inside Villa Taranto, will become a true tropical paradise for the Orchid Festival, co-organized with the association  “Le orchidee del Lago Maggiore”.

An exposition of particular orchids, you’ll have the opportunity to admire different species. Meeting with an expert gardner, that will explain some curiosity about orchids.

In case of bad weather the exposition will be postponed on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May.

Water Flowers in Villa Taranto

From June to August

Let yourself be fascinated by the amazing summer flowers of Villa Taranto!

From June to August you can admire several different species of waterlillies, you’ll also be impressed by the Lotus Flowers, symbol of India and Buddhism.

Lotus Flower has big leaves (until 50-60 cm) and amazing rose petals.

Villa Taranto Tulips Weeks

“Le settimane del tulipano” Villa Taranto
From 7 until 28 April 2019

In this particular period the garden of Villa Taranto lights with the thousands colours of more then 80. 000 bulbous in flowers, among these, the unquestioned star is the tulip flower. There are more then 65 varieties of tulips, among them there is the possibility to admire the rare black tulip “Queen of Night” and the “Big Chief”, with its corolla’s diameter of almost 10 centimetres.

“The Tulip’s Maze” is a magnificent show of colours, a long sinous path created by master-gardeners with 20.000 bulbous.

Furthermore in this season you can admire other wonderful blooms like rhododendrons and azaleas.

You can visit the garden every day, holidays included, from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
